Dear Lighthouse Family,

The 2027–2028 school year marks a very special milestone for Lighthouse Preparatory Academy—20 years of God’s faithfulness!

TWENTY YEARS ago, four families gathered around a kitchen table with a dream: to create a unique model of education that would combine the best of traditional school and homeschooling while strengthening families and developing students academically, spiritually, and personally.

There was a lot of dreaming around that table. There was praying, a few tears, and then some more praying. Most importantly, there was a deep desire to follow where God was leading.

From opening our doors in 2007 with just 30 students at Columbia College, God has faithfully grown Lighthouse into the school community we know today, serving approximately 220 students. As we celebrate 20 years, we want to honor the families, students, teachers, staff, board members, volunteers, and supporters who have been part of this story—and, most importantly, celebrate God’s faithfulness through it all.

ONE MISSION

While much has changed over the past 20 years, one thing has never changed: our mission.

To strengthen families by partnering with parents to develop witnesses for Christ through academic excellence and character development.

We believe this mission is God-given, and we are committed to following it into the next chapter of Lighthouse.

ONE LIGHTHOUSE

As we look toward the future, we believe God is leading Lighthouse into an exciting new chapter.

Beginning with the 2027–2028 school year, Little Lighthouse, Lighthouse Elementary, and Lighthouse Middle & High School will become ONE unified Lighthouse campus community across our two buildings at El Mercado Plaza and Prodo Drive.

This new campus structure will allow us to create more intentional, age-appropriate learning environments while making even better use of the facilities and resources God has entrusted to us.

Preschool through 6th grade will be based at El Mercado, creating a dedicated environment for our younger students. This means no more crossing over to the El Mercado building for chapel and specials, while also providing a larger lunchroom and additional support staff in the building.

7th through 12th grade will have a dedicated secondary environment at Prodo Drive. Our secondary students have shared that they would love to have a space of their own, and the Prodo Drive building gives us an incredible opportunity to create a middle and high school environment that reflects their needs and gives them a greater sense of ownership.

And they won’t just be moving into a new space—they will have an opportunity to help design it!

Imagine comfortable gathering spaces, study areas, a common room, and even a coffee bar! Our students will have the opportunity to help make the space truly their own.

And, of course, our seniors may finally get one of their most important requests: their own dedicated—and creatively decorated!—parking spaces!

Our 7th–12th grade students will continue to come together at the El Mercado building for EQUIP, chapel, small groups, clubs, lunch, college and career opportunities, science lab, and the relationships and experiences that make Lighthouse unique.

And while our students will have dedicated spaces, we will continue to be one Lighthouse family.

PARTNERSHIP

As we move toward our 20th anniversary, we will invite our teachers, students, and families to help shape this next chapter. We know that a new chapter brings questions and adjustments, and we want to walk through those together—as partners.

LET’S CELEBRATE!

We are looking forward to gathering our entire Lighthouse family in the fall of 2027 to celebrate 20 years of God’s faithfulness and look ahead to what He has yet to do. We hope to celebrate with the families, students, teachers, alumni, former teachers, and supporters who have helped make Lighthouse what it is today.

The same God who gathered four families around a kitchen table 20 years ago is the God who will lead us into the next 20.

Today, we celebrate where God has brought us.

Tomorrow, we move forward with faith and anticipation.
